The AIR Group provides reactive services, planned preventative maintenance and installation of equipment to a wide customer base across retail, healthcare, educational and industrial sectors.
The role of Mechanical Engineer will be based in our Ashbourne office and will be responsible for the delivery of Mechanical Engineering design elements of HVAC projects throughout Ireland. The candidate should be self-motivated, enthusiastic, hardworking, flexible, willing to take responsibility and comfortable working as part of team.
Your responsibilities
- Conceptual design studies, preparation of sketches and report writing
- Carry out mechanical design including but not limited to building analysis, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, specialist gas, water services, drainage and fire suppression systems
- Estimating and Cost Control on projects
- Ensuring that all designs and documents are prepared to the highest standards
- Ensuring full co-ordination between specifications and drawings
- Compilation of Specifications for Mechanical Services and Installations
- Preparation of guidance documents
- Preparation of contract documentation and specifications
- Attendance at design team meetings
- Attendance on site, completion of site inspections and site inspection reports
- Compiling project reports
Qualifications/Skills
- Minimum Mechanical Engineering Level 7
- Membership in any Engineering Professional Body.
- Experience in Client facing role
- Experience in financial management of design budgets.
- Experience in fulfilling the Ancillary Certifier function on projects
- Experience in delivery of Mechanical Engineering Design in HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Knowledge and interest in the implementation of sustainability measures in designs
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and codes of practice
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexible approach with ability to be able to multi-task and prioritise when necessary.
- Positive outlook and approachable manner.
- Well-motivated, able to work as part of a team or alone when required.
- Understanding of use of BIM processes, AutoCAD and Revit
