The Role
Reporting to the Company Accountant, the Accounts Assistant will provide administrative and financial support across the Accounts Department, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the finance function.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in producing accurate work. Working as part of a collaborative Accounts Team, you will support a variety of accounting and administrative functions while developing your knowledge within a busy dealership environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process purchase invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist with sales ledger and purchase ledger administration.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Process daily receipts and payments.
- Assist with credit control and customer account administration.
- Support payroll administration by preparing and processing payroll information.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve invoice queries.
- Assist with stock and vehicle accounting administration.
- Maintain filing systems and electronic financial records.
- Support the Accounts Team with month-end administration.
- Liaise with colleagues across all departments to ensure accurate financial processing.
- Provide general administrative support to the Company Accountant and Accounts Team.
- Carry out other finance and administration duties as required.
The Ideal Candidate

- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in an accounts, finance or administration role.
- Excellent numerical and organisational skills.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work accurately and meet deadlines.
Desirable
- Previous experience within the motor industry or a similar fast-paced environment.
- Payroll administration experience would be an advantage.

Working Hours
- Permanent position.
- Full-time preferred (40-hour working week).
- Part-time applications will be considered for an exceptional candidate.
- Working hours to be agreed between Monday and Friday 8.30-5.30.
