About the Role
St Vincent's Private Hospital is seeking a compassionate and skilled Staff Nurse to join its dedicated oncology nursing team at the Centre of Care for Cancer. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, holistic nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment across both inpatient and day unit settings.
Working within a specialist multidisciplinary team, the Staff Nurse will play a vital role in supporting patients and their families throughout their cancer care journey, integrating advanced treatments with compassionate, patient-focused care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centred nursing care to oncology patients receiving systemic anti-cancer therapies and supportive treatments
- Monitor, assess, and manage treatment-related side effects and complications
- Provide emotional support, education, and advocacy for patients and their families throughout their treatment journey
- Safely administer medications in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and professional standards
- Collaborate closely with consultants, clinical nurse specialists, and the multidisciplinary oncology team
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Promote dignity, privacy, and respect in all aspects of patient care
- Participate in ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives
Essential Criteria
- NMBI Registered General Nurse (adaptation not available)
- Recent experience in oncology nursing
- Excellent communication and empathetic care skills
- Oncology-related postgraduate diploma or degree
