CNC Machine Operator – Lighting Manufacturing

Position Summary
The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining
CNC equipment used in the production of lighting fixtures and components. This role
ensures precision fabrication of sheet metal and machined parts such as housings,
reflectors, brackets, heat sinks, and mounting assemblies used in commercial and
architectural lighting products.
Key Responsibilities
CNC Machine Operation
Set up and operate CNC equipment including laser cutters, turret punches,
press brakes, routers, mills, or lathes.
Load raw materials (aluminium, steel, stainless steel) into machines.
Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and work orders.
Perform tool changes and adjust machine settings to maintain quality and
efficiency.
Monitor machine operations to ensure parts meet dimensional tolerances.
Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections using callipers, micrometres,
and gauges.
Production & Quality
Manufacture precision components for lighting fixtures, including housings,
frames, brackets, and enclosures.
Ensure cosmetic quality standards for visible architectural lighting products.
Deburr, clean, and prepare parts for finishing (powder coating or anodizing).
Maintain production schedules and meet daily output targets.
Identify and report defects or equipment malfunctions.
Maintenance & Safety
Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning.
Follow all safety guidelines and PPE requirements.
Maintain organized work areas (5S standards preferred).
Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap and improve cycle
time.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or technical certification in CNC machining or
manufacturing technology.
1–3 years of CNC machine operation experience.
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
Experience working with sheet metal fabrication.
Basic understanding of measurement tools and quality control procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in lighting fixture manufacturing.
Familiarity with aluminium machining and fabrication.
Basic G-code knowledge or CNC programming exposure.
Experience in Lean manufacturing environments.
