Senior Quantity Surveyor – Athlone

The Opportunity
Townmore is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team on a large-scale residential development in Athlone.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially strong Senior QS with main contractor experience who is looking for a significant project combined with long-term career stability in the Midlands.

The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take a leading commercial role on the Athlone project, working closely with the Project Manager, Site Team and Commercial Management.
You will have responsibility for the commercial performance of the project from procurement through to final account, while supporting the wider project team to ensure successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Take commercial responsibility for the project from subcontractor procurement through to final account.
- Manage subcontractor tendering, analysis, negotiation and appointments.
- Prepare and manage valuations, variations, cost reports and project forecasts.
- Monitor budgets and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
- Manage subcontractor accounts, payments and final account negotiations.
- Attend project, commercial and cost meetings.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and the wider project team.
- Maintain strong contractual and commercial control throughout the project.
- Provide regular commercial reporting to senior management.
- Support and mentor junior members of the Commercial Team where required.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
- Approximately 7+ years' relevant experience, ideally with a Main Contractor in Ireland.
- Experience on large-scale residential projects would be highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of procurement, valuations, variations, cost reporting and final accounts.
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
- Confident communicator and negotiator with the ability to build strong working relationships.
- Capable of taking commercial ownership of a significant construction project.
