Role Purpose
We are seeking an experienced and driven Quality Manager to lead our quality assurance and compliance operation within our fast-paced fruit and vegetable production facility. You will be responsible for overseeing the Quality Management System (QMS), managing our Quality Controllers, and maintaining strict adherence to global food safety standards like BRC and HACCP. The ideal candidate will combine a deep technical knowledge of fresh produce with excellent leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Auditing
- Manage the site Quality Management System (QMS).
- Lead all external third-party audits, including BRC, and retail customer inspections.
· Oversee documentation of all food safety and quality management systems
- Oversee internal auditing schedules to identify non-conformances and ensure rapid corrective actions.
- Maintain and update the HACCP plan, ensuring continuous product safety and raw material traceability.
Production & Operations
- Manage quality standards for intake, packing, and dispatch processes.
- Monitor shelf-life, temperature control, and visual grading across all fruit and vegetable categories.
- Investigate customer complaints identifying root cause and action planning
- Lead, mentor the on-site Quality Control (QC) team.
- Conduct food safety, induction and hygiene training for all production floor staff.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement where high food quality is prioritised across all shifts.
Requirements & Qualifications
Essential:
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a Quality Management role within food manufacturing.
- Certified training in HACCP principles and managing BRC standard implementations.
- Proven track record of successfully hosting retail and regulatory audits.
- Robust communication skills to effectively manage both operators and management.
Desirable:
- Degree in Food Science or a related discipline.
