Franciscan Convent is a well equipped and modern building surrounded by its own beautiful gardens and grounds and which is home to 26 elderly Sisters, many of whom require the support of our dedicated nursing and care team. The role of the health care assistant is to assist the Care Manager and her nurses in providing the highest standard of physical, psychological and social care to the Sisters at all times. As a part of our professional team, you would be expected to conduct yourself in a manner that conveys respect for everyone in the workplace and you would ensure safe patient care through your adherence to the highest standards of confidentiality, courtesy, accountability, communication, dignity, respect and health & safety.
Ideal candidates will have achieved the appropriate FETAC/QQI level 5 and have experience of working in a similar role. Consideration may also be given to those currently on the QQI training course who can show relevant skills and recent experience of working with the older person.
We are currently seeking a HCA for a temporary contract of 33 hours per week (3 x shifts) for 6 months duration. Candidates must be available to work days or night shifts and weekends as required.
