Empathy Healthcare is seeking a Social Care Team Leader to join our low-support adult residential service in Co. Laois.

The Role
The Team Leader supports the Person in Charge (PIC) in the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring safe, high-quality, and person-centred care in line with HIQA regulations and organisational policies.
The role includes providing leadership to the staff team, supporting governance and audits, and ensuring continuity of service in the absence of the PIC (with support from PPIM).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and support the staff team
- Ensure implementation of person-centred support plans
- Promote independence, choice, and inclusion
- Maintain HIQA compliance and organisational standards
- Support audits, reporting, and governance activities
- Ensure accurate documentation and record keeping
- Promote safeguarding, health & safety, and risk management
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, and MDTs
- Support quality improvement and continuous development
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and homely environment
Key Competencies

Requirements
- Level 7 qualification in Social Care or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in social care/disability services
- Minimum 2 years’ supervisory/management experience
- Strong knowledge of HIQA standards and safeguarding
- Full clean driving licence
- Good IT skills (Microsoft Office)
