Role Overview
Reporting to the Associate Director of Accounting, the Accounting Manager will play a key role in delivering accounting and financial reporting services to clients in Ireland and the UK.
The successful candidate will have strong technical accounting experience and will be comfortable working across multiple clients, systems, and industries. They will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reviewing accounts and fostering strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Relationship Management: Oversee relationships with clients operating across multiple countries, ensuring alignment with client expectations and internal service standards. Collaborate closely with internal teams across payroll, corporate secretarial, and other service areas to deliver a seamless client experience.
- International Accounting Oversight: Maintain centralised accounting records for clients’ international entities. Prepare regular financial and consolidated reports for client headquarters, including profit & loss analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Financial Reporting & Tax Coordination: Work with team members and external partners to prepare financial statements and support tax filings.
- Client Advisory: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing guidance and advice on accounting and financial matters.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Coordinate with external advisors such as lawyers, tax consultants, and auditors.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams managing multi-country payroll, corporate secretarial, and other services to ensure seamless delivery.
- Process Documentation: Maintain and update workflow documentation to ensure consistency and transparency.
- Growth & Expansion Consulting: Advise clients on international expansion, including market entry strategies and improvements to financial reporting systems, especially around funding rounds.
Qualifications, Skills & Requirements
- Minimum 8-10 years’ experience, ideally in an accounting practice or professional services environment working with various different clients.
- Relevant accounting qualification.
- Strong background in Irish/UK GAAP and financial statements preparation
- General understanding of payroll practices and basic corporate secretarial procedures.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, Visma, Xledger, NetSuite.
- Understanding of system integration and cross-platform financial reporting.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and timelines as required.
- Driving AI and process improvements and efficiencies.
