POSITION PURPOSE
To assist Spa Management/Supervisor in maintaining the highest standards of professionalism in all aspects of operations. To ensure all treatments are carried out to the highest standards and targets are met. To maintain an exceptional level of cleanliness.
KEY FUNCTIONS
Therapist Duties:
o Complete treatments outlined in the Therapist Care Programme
o Day to day responsibility for equipment, products, cleanliness and hygiene of the treatment areas.
o To be aware of all treatments offered and any promotions on offer at any given time.
o Responsible for achieving sales targets as set by the Spa Manager.
o Assist with demonstrations/events as required.
o Must adhere to training as set down by the Spa Manager.
o To maintain the stock at the correct level following set standards.
o To use the correct quantities of products as specified by the manufacturer and not exceed that amount.
o Must attend all training courses as deemed necessary by the Spa Manager.
o Responsible for keeping up the high standard of treatment and service.
o To supervise and conduct the safety of users and equipment at The Spa at The Kingsley and to receive training to ensure that all relevant legislation pertaining to the Health and Safety at Work Law and Health and Hygiene standards are implemented and monitored within The Spa at The Kingsley.
o To maintain a high standard of appearance and personal hygiene as laid down by the Spa Manager.
o Ensure the cleanliness, neatness, stocking and organising of all treatment areas. All grooming stations, storeroom items, are always stocked to standard
o To always be punctual and prepared in advance of treatments.
o To be adaptable and accountable for all actions.
o To cover reception and spa attendant duties as and when required
o Courtesy to guests and other members of staff at all times.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:
o Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
o Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
o Must possess basic computer skills.
o Working knowledge of Irish legislation, particularly employment regulations.
o Must hold a Spa Therapist Treatment qualification eg ITEC, CIBTAC, CIDESCO, QQI
Physical Demands
o Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems.
o Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally.
o Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
o Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
o Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
o Ability to work primarily with fingers to pick, pinch, type and carry out substantial movements (motions) of the wrists and hands as well.
o Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
o Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment if needed.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education
o Must hold a Spa Therapist Treatment qualification eg ITEC, CIBTAC, CIDESCO
Experience
A Trainee Therapist has recently qualified and has no experience working in a Spa.
