GP / Primary Care Secretary & Receptionist (Part-Time)
We are looking for a friendly, organised and proactive individual to join our well-established team on a part-time basis.
Our practice is known for its supportive and collaborative working environment, and we take pride in looking after both our patients and our staff. We are in no rush to fill this position and are focused on finding the right person to join our team over the coming months.
This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys a busy day, thrives in a fast-paced environment and can confidently manage multiple tasks while maintaining excellent attention to detail. As with most jobs of this nature it is very rewarding. General Practice experience is highly desirable.

- Good computer skills and confidence using digital systems
- Experience in a healthcare or clinical setting is desirable
- Experience with medical software is an advantage, although training will be provided
Key Responsibilities
As part of our reception and administrative team, duties will include:
- Answering and managing a busy telephone system
- Booking appointments and managing patient enquiries
- Processing prescription requests
- Relaying messages accurately to the clinical team
- Scheduling patient visits and follow-up appointments
- Welcoming patients and assisting them on arrival
- Processing payments and issuing receipts
- Scanning, filing and maintaining patient records
- Supporting the Practice Manager and GPs with general administrative duties

This position is best suited to someone who enjoys being productive, works well as part of a team and takes pride in delivering excellent patient service. While we offer a supportive and friendly workplace, the role can be demanding at times and requires someone who is comfortable working at pace, adapting to changing priorities and contributing positively to a busy practice environment.
Salary & Hours
Job Type: Part-Time, Permanent
Salary: €17.00 – €20.00 per hour
(Depending on relevant experience)
Schedule: 2–3 full days per week
(Exact days are negotiable)
