Job Purpose
ICE Climate is establishing a dedicated Data Integrity & Governance (DIG) team in Dublin to ensure compliance with the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) Regulation on ESG Rating Providers (Regulation (EU) 2024/3005). As Manager of the DIG team, you will lead and develop a team of ESG Ratings, Data Integrity, and Governance Analysts, working at the intersection of data, product, and compliance to drive the governance and validation of ESG Ratings and Sustainable Finance data workflows and climate risk scoring methodologies.
This leadership role combines deep ESG data/ratings regulatory expertise with product innovation and team management, ensuring our solutions are compliant. You will engage directly with clients, third parties and senior stakeholders for all data/methodology queries to translate feedback and market needs into product enhancements that meet ESMA expectations — all while building and mentoring a high-performing Dublin-based team. This role requires the successful candidate to be based in Dublin, Ireland and in the office 5 days a week.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership & People Management
Manage and mentor a team of ESG Ratings, Data Integrity & Governance Analysts based in Dublin
Oversee workload distribution and resource planning across the overall DIG team to ensure delivery against regulatory and product timelines
Act as an escalation point and senior subject matter expert for team members, providing guidance on complex ESG regulatory and data governance matters
Integrated Data Governance, Methodology Oversight & Regulatory Implementation
Lead end-to-end governance of ESG and Sustainable Finance data, including quality assessment, validation frameworks, and implementation of controls to ensure consistency, traceability, and adherence to established standards
Direct the design, validation, and pressure testing of climate risk scoring methodologies aligned with ESMA requirements, ensuring robustness of data inputs and model outputs in collaboration with internal model validation teams
Oversee and approve documentation of data sources, transformations, models, and dependencies to support regulatory transparency and compliance and ensure data/ratings accuracy and completeness
Lead preparation of materials for internal audits and regulatory reviews, including senior stakeholder presentations - ensuring completeness, accuracy, and regulatory readiness
Identify and escalate issues/clients’ complaints to Senior Management, Risk and Compliance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate directly with the Regulatory Compliance Officer to implement robust risk and compliance framework and ESMA requirements across the organization
Advise Product teams on regulatory/risk implications of new features or data sources, serving as the DIG team’s primary point of escalation
Client Engagement
Lead and oversee client methodology challenge and validation processes, serving as the primary senior point of contact for client ESG regulatory and data governance matters
Review and approve responses to technical questionnaires regarding methodology and data governance before submission
Lead and deliver client presentations on ESGR methodology, scores, and data integrity/governance, coaching team analysts in client engagement best practices to include importance of function independence, client engagement restrictions.
Systematically capture, synthesize, and escalate client feedback to drive continuous product and process improvement.
Knowledge and Experience
4+ years of experience in Sustainable Finance data operations/analytics, ESG/climate risk data management, climate risk/ESG product development, financial risk management, or data governance/regulatory compliance
Demonstrated managerial experience and proven leadership skills, including direct experience managing, coaching, and developing professional teams
Vast and comprehensive knowledge of ESG, sustainability, and ESG regulatory data, including deep familiarity with global and EU-specific ESG frameworks, standards, and data ecosystems
Strong quantitative and analytical skills with high attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex findings to varied audiences including senior leadership
Excellent written communication, presentation, and technical documentation abilities
Demonstrated ability to engage confidently with clients, prospects, and senior internal stakeholders to discuss ESGR methodology, gather feedback, and provide authoritative technical guidance
Schedule
Must be based in Dublin, Ireland
This role leads an on-site Dublin team and requires full-time presence in Dublin and 5 days a week in the office
EU Base Salary Range
The expected base salary for this role is between 65,000 - 75,000 EUR. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange’s incentive compensation. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on objective and gender-neutral criteria including skillset, qualifications and experience of the individual.
