Duke Construction – Kilkenny / Leinster
Duke Construction are seeking a Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Lead to join our team, based in our Kilkenny office and supporting projects across Dublin and Leinster.
This is an opportunity to take real ownership of the pricing and commercial function within a growing contractor, working directly with senior management and playing a key role in securing new work.
The Role
- Preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
- Full take-offs from drawings and specifications
- Management of subcontractor enquiries, pricing comparisons and procurement
- Value engineering and cost planning on live tenders
- Supporting the commercial management of ongoing projects where required
- Liaising with site teams, project managers, and senior management
The role is primarily office-based (Kilkenny) with periodic travel to Dublin and Leinster sites as required.
Location & Working Structure
- Base: Kilkenny office
- Projects: Dublin & Leinster
- Hybrid:
- 3–4 days in office
- Site visits as needed
- Option for occasional remote working for focused pricing.
What We’re Looking For
- 3–6+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator
- Experience with a main contractor or strong subcontractor background
- Proven ability to price projects independently
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and BOQs
- Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Ability to work off own initiative and take ownership of tenders
