What are we looking for?
We are seeking an experienced, reliable and motivated Part-Time Catering Assistant to join our established team at a busy city-centre site.
This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working as part of a team and is confident operating in a fast-paced catering environment. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality breakfast, lunch and hospitality services while providing a friendly and professional experience for customers and guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing efficient and professional counter service at peak service times.
- Supporting the preparation, setup and delivery of meeting-room and event hospitality.
- Carrying out ware-washing duties, including the cleaning and safe storage of crockery, cutlery, utensils and catering equipment.
- Maintaining clean, safe and well-organised kitchen, service and back-of-house areas.
- Completing routine cleaning duties in accordance with agreed schedules and site standards.
- Segregating and disposing of waste correctly in line with site procedures and sustainability requirements.
- Following HACCP, food safety, allergen-management and health and safety procedures at all times.
- Supporting colleagues across the catering operation as required to ensure services run smoothly.
The successful candidate will:
- Have previous experience in a catering, hospitality or food-service environment.
- Be comfortable working in a busy and physically active role.
- Have a positive, proactive and flexible approach to work.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Have good communication and customer-service skills.
- Be dependable, punctual and well organised.
- Be willing to assist with a range of duties depending on the needs of the service.

It may be necessary to work alternative hours, shift patterns or unsociable hours, including weekends and sometimes more than contracted hours. As part of your job, you will be expected to attend training events and/or meetings and travel to other locations may be required. Local requirements will govern your patterns and locations of work.
