Introduction:
The RECREATION & ACTIVITIES CO-ORDINATOR supports adults with severe/profound intellectual disabilities and additional support needs living in the service, to achieve the good things in life through the provision of a comprehensive programme that supports each person to have choice and control in their life, fulfil their social, cultural, and recreational needs, develop and maintain personal relationships and links with the wider community.
The focus will be within a social model of care and support, ensuring that each adult has opportunities to participate in meaningful activities, appropriate to his/her interests and preferences and that reflect his/her needs, interests, and capacities.

Essential Criteria - ideally the successful candidate will possess the following:
-
Minimum desirable requirement is FETAC level 5 certificate, preferably in healthcare, community care or care for people with disabilities

Experience of supporting adults with profound disabilities

Experience and understanding of HIQA regulations

Activities, Leisure and Therapeutic Therapy diploma/degree desirable
-
Full clean drivers' licence is essential
