Job Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and motivated breakfast chef to join our kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their culinary skills in a dynamic café environment. You’ll be responsible for supporting the chefs in food preparation, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and learning all aspects of food production with a focus on sandwiches, pasta, and other café-style dishes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes according to the café’s menu
- Ensure all food is prepared to the highest quality and hygiene standards
- Handle mise en place (prep work) for sandwiches, pasta, salads, and light meals
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of your workstation
- Follow instructions from senior chefs and support them as needed during busy service times
- Monitor stock levels and inform the senior team of shortages
- Comply with food safety, health, and hygiene regulations at all times
- Contribute to a positive and productive kitchen environment
Requirements:
- Previous kitchen experience is mandatory (training can be provided)
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices
- Willingness to learn and a strong passion for food
- Ability to work well in a team and take direction
- Good time management and ability to multitask under pressure
- Flexibility with working hours, including weekends and holidays
