Mitchell Murray Insulations Ltd is a growing mechanical insulation contractor specialising in pipework insulation, ventilation insulation, cladding and associated mechanical services insulation works throughout Ireland. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated Junior to Mid-Level Mechanical Estimator to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop within a specialist sector while working on a diverse range of commercial, pharmaceutical, healthcare, data centre and industrial projects.
The Role
The successful candidate will assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates and quotations for mechanical insulation and cladding projects.
Key Responsibilities
Review tender documents, drawings and specifications.
Carry out quantity take-offs from mechanical services drawings.
Measure pipework, ductwork, valves, plant and associated insulation requirements.
Prepare detailed estimates and quotations using Excel and company pricing systems.
Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations.
Liaise with clients, suppliers, project managers and site personnel.
Attend site surveys and pre-tender meetings where required.
Assist with tender submissions and project handovers.
Maintain estimating records, quotation logs and pricing databases.
Assist in pricing variations and additional works on live projects.
Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and systems.
Candidate Requirements
Previous estimating experience or 3rd level qualifications within mechanical, HVAC, insulation, M&E or construction sectors would be beneficial but not essential.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Good communication and organisational abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Full driving licence.

Mechanical Services or HVAC background.
Insulation or cladding industry experience.
Experience using estimating software.
Quantity Surveying or Engineering qualification.
Site experience within construction or mechanical services.
