Career Vision Recruiters are seeking an experienced and motivated Food & Beverage Manager to oversee the smooth and efficient running of the Food & Beverage department within a busy 4-star hotel in Co. Carlow.
The successful candidate will ensure the delivery of consistently exceptional, friendly, and professional service to all guests, in line with the hotel’s customer service standards. You will act as a key ambassador for the hotel, demonstrating respect, politeness, and a genuine commitment to guest satisfaction in all interactions with both guests and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Set, implement, and maintain all Food & Beverage standards in line with General Manager expectations
- Ensure all guests are warmly welcomed and their needs are met throughout their experience
- Control departmental costs effectively, with a particular focus on payroll, wages, and margins
- Work closely with the Sales & Marketing team to support and deliver events and functions
- Liaise with the Head Chef to maintain consistently high food quality and presentation standards
- Train, coach, and develop team members to ensure consistent service excellence
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations and hotel policies
- Work closely with HR on recruitment, onboarding, and performance appraisals
- Conduct regular staff appraisals and support ongoing team development
- Ensure staff presentation and grooming standards are consistently met
- Carry out Duty Management shifts as required and provide operational support across departments when needed
- Attend management meetings and communicate relevant updates to the team
- Maintain a consistently high 4-star service standard while continuously seeking opportunities to exceed guest expectations
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Minimum 3 years’ experience managing a Food & Beverage operation in a busy venue (hotel bar experience advantageous)
- At least 2 years’ experience managing and leading a team
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing rosters, payroll, stock control, and profit margins
- A genuine passion for guest satisfaction and service excellence
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- A strong team-player attitude with the ability to lead by example
