Financial Accountant

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Financial Accountant to join our busy finance team. This is a permanent role and an excellent opportunity to take on a position in a well-established business where you will get to work in many areas of the finance function and be involved in a number of companies within a large trading group.
Responsibilities will include:
· Assisting in the preparation of accounting records for a number of group companies. This will include preparation of bank reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and preparation of draft monthly management accounts reporting to the Group Financial Controller.
· Updating fixed asset register and calculation of depreciation on the company’s assets.
· Preparation of monthly cash flow forecasts.
· Identify and isolate unusual trends and or material cost increases requiring attention.
· Preparation and filing of VAT returns with the Revenue Commissioners/HMRC – for some group companies.
· Ensure compliance with the Revenue Commissioners/HMRC with regard to payroll and other taxes.
· Review and reconcile intercompany balances monthly together with preparation of intercompany recharges.
· Assist with the Payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes for various group companies and working closely with and in the teams responsible for same.
· Making payments and putting up payments on the online banking portal to be authorised.
· Maintenance of stock records.
· Meeting tight deadlines in a busy environment and taking on project work as required.
The Candidate
· Part Qualified accountant (either ACA or ACCA) with at least 3 years’ experience in a busy finance department.
· Good communication skills.
· Must be able to demonstrate good attention to detail and good judgement showing logical decision making and ability to take a hands-on approach.
· Proven ability working as part of a busy finance team and dealing with lots of transactions in a number of group companies.
· Highly organised and efficient with ability to work under pressure and multi-tasking ensuring deadlines are met.
· IT literate, and proficient in Microsoft products, ERP systems and various accounting packages.
