Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced, motivated and clinically focused Dental Nurse to join our team, specialising in implant procedures.
The successful candidate will work closely with our clinical team, providing high-quality chairside support throughout dental procedures. This role requires excellent clinical knowledge, attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to remain calm and reassuring in a surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide skilled chairside assistance during dental implant procedures, including implant procedures.
- Prepare and set up the surgery for surgical and non-surgical procedures, ensuring all instruments, materials and equipment are available and correctly prepared.
- Maintain strict cross-infection control, decontamination and infection prevention standards in accordance with practice policies and current regulations.
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of sterile fields during surgical procedures.
- Anticipate the clinician’s requirements throughout procedures and provide efficient four-handed dentistry.
- Prepare and handle surgical instruments, implant components, grafting materials and other specialist equipment safely and efficiently where necessary.
- Ensure instruments and equipment are appropriately cleaned, sterilised, maintained and stored following procedures.
- Provide patients with clear and reassuring support before, during and after surgical treatment.
- Monitor and support patients during procedures, recognising and appropriately responding to signs of anxiety, discomfort or medical concerns.
- Provide patients with appropriate post-operative care instructions as directed by the clinician.
- Maintain accurate and complete clinical records in accordance with practice procedures.
- Work collaboratively with dentists, reception staff and other members of the dental team.
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism, confidentiality and patient care at all times.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain and enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in oral surgery and/or dental implantology.
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures and clinical protocols.
- Excellent knowledge of infection prevention and cross-infection control.
- Confident working with surgical instruments and specialist dental equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Calm, organised and able to work effectively in a busy clinical environment.
- Compassionate and reassuring approach to patient care.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to clinical standards.
- Ability to maintain accurate clinical records and follow practice protocols.
Desirable Experience
- Qualified and registered Dental Nurse.
- Experience assisting with implant placement and restoration.
- Experience with bone grafting and sinus lift procedures.
- Experience working within a specialist dental or referral environment.
- Additional qualifications or training in dental implant nursing, oral surgery or sedation.
- Experience assisting with IV sedation or other forms of conscious sedation.
- Knowledge of implant systems and surgical protocols.

Working Schedule
40 hours over 5 days
Shifts between 7:30am and 8pm Monday to Friday and 8:30am-5pm Saturdays (when required).
