Team/Role Overview:
WorldLink is an industry leading cross-border payments solution that enables clients to execute cross-currency transactions, providing global access, integrated foreign exchange (FX), and flexible payment optionality via various execution methods.
As a Director of Product Management, you will have end-to-end global product oversight and accountability for core product capabilities. This high-visibility role requires close collaboration with cluster and country product management teams, technology, operations, sales, second line of defence, and functional partners to ensure WorldLink delivers an uninterrupted client offering, alongside strategic planning to ensure future-ready capabilities that meet evolving client expectations.
What you'll do:

- Navigate, influence, and negotiate with senior leadership, cluster business heads, external partners, and key market infrastructures to drive strategic alignment and execution.
- Innovate and evolve the product suite to deliver best-in-class, frictionless client experiences.
- Initiate and drive transformational change, process improvements, and departmental initiatives to optimise the operational aspects of the product.
- Develop detailed work plans, schedules, business and investment proposals, project estimates, and status reports.
- Demonstrate a strong risk and compliance focus by proactively assessing and managing product risks across regions and workstreams, ensuring timely mitigation to avoid client and operational impacts.
- Leverage a strong commercial focus to drive revenue growth, influence commercialisation frameworks, and shape the product investment portfolio to maximise return on investment (ROI) and meet multi-year growth targets.
- Analyse competitive landscapes, macroeconomic trends, and regulatory shifts to proactively position Citi as the premier global cross-border payments provider.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing, diverse global team of product managers, fostering a culture of intellectual curiosity, collaboration, and continuous professional development.
What we'll need from you:
- Significant progressive product management and leadership experience within the payments industry.
- Deep understanding of global clearing systems, FX market structures, and emerging payment trends (ISO 20022, digital assets, open banking).
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to articulate complex financial and technical concepts to internal and external leadership teams.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate, and build consensus across highly matrixed global organisations, diverse cultures, and competing business priorities.
- Deep understanding of risk, compliance, and control frameworks (e.g., AML, Sanctions, KYC, and operational risk) associated with the global movement of funds.
- Proven track record of conceptualising a business vision and successfully executing large-scale product transformations.
- Proven experience in building, leading, and developing high-performing, diverse global teams, with a strong focus on talent retention and mentorship.
- Ability to work in a fast-moving environment and as part of a dynamic global team.
- Ability to handle challenging situations with composure, guiding other parts of the organisation and making clear, actionable recommendations.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent third-level qualification. A master’s degree in a business discipline is preferred.
