The Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy Western Branch have an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and caring Healthcare Assistant to join our Assisted Living team in our Athlone.

Main Care Duties:
- Care for not only the physical but also the social and emotional needs of the Sisters
- Provide Personal Care
- Prompt Sisters to take their medication
- Have the Sisters’ health, safety, and well-being in mind while carrying out all tasks
- Record and report all incidents in the Incident Report Book
- Adhere to the in-house policies and procedures
- Perform all duties in a professional and friendly manner
- Ensure the highest standard of care while being mindful of the fact that this is the Sisters’ home
- Work as a part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting and respecting all the other team members while promoting a positive work environment
- Work as Lead HCA on dessignated days
- Undertake other assigned tasks as the situation demands on occasion
Requirements:
- Being of a compassionate and caring nature
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as being a team player
- Full Irish driving license
- Ability to drive to all major hospitals, including Dublin
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts (night and day cover required)
- Flexibility to cover for annual leave
- FETAC level 5 and/or previous experience in care
This is a part-time (24 hours per week) permanent position.
Pay: €16.00 per hour
