Are you a Transport Planner looking for an environment that will help accelerate your career? We are looking for a Transport Planner to co-ordinate the transport operations of the Business involving Road/Rail and Container Transport in order to achieve business objectives and the needs of the Customer. The role will be working Monday – Friday 09:00 – 17:30 or similar On Call Mobile on Shared Rota after 3 months. This is a hybrid role.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

To cost effectively plan and dispatch routes involving Road/Rail and Container modalities to achieve contractual delivery times, conduction remedial planning to effectively manage live changes to the plan

To ensure all administrative traffic duties are carried out as necessary and to a high level of accuracy and professionalism

To ensure that defected deliveries / vehicles / damaged procedures are followed where necessary

To assist in weekly and monthly KPI as set by the business and/or Customer To use all XPO IT based system in the effective delivery of their role

Ensure that appropriate communication methods are used to provide information both internally and externally as required e.g. Dealing with customer / supplier issues etc.

To identify and highlight to management any potential improvement opportunities

To demonstrate the Company Values in the undertaking of their role

To undertake any other reasonable task as required

To always display the highest standards of customer service

To undertake any relevant training events in line with own personal development needs and business requirements
What you need to succeed at XPO:

Experience in a transport or logistics

Confident in handling day-to-day operational challenges in a fast-paced environment

Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across teams (warehouse, customer service, and clients)

Good commercial awareness and a proactive, solution-focused mindset

Highly organised and detail-oriented

A team-focused attitude, with a willingness to get involved and support the wider operation

High levels of energy, resilience, and adaptability

Customer Service Focused Previous experience, IT Literate

Work well within a team as well as been able to work on their own initiative
