Newpark Care Centre is seeking a temporary compassionate, kind, caring and reliable activities coordinator to join our team.
The successful candidate must be highly motivated with excellent communication skills. The candidate must like working with the elderly. They must be able to manage and arrange activity programmes with a holistic, person centered approach, meeting individual and group needs.
The right candidate will be able to plan, develop, manage, organise and implement the activity programmes appropriate to each resident’s needs, while ensuring residents privacy and dignity is respected at all times.
Core Skills: ·
· Create stimulating, cognitive and engaging activities that meet the mental, social and physical needs of the residents.
· Excellent organisational skills and ability to coordinate multiple activities
· Flexible and self-motivated
· Ability to organise, lead and motivate a team
· Excellent communication skills written and oral
· Experience in craft / creativity an advantage
· Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision
· Ability to handle difficult situations with ease and remain calm and positive under pressure
· Organise social activities for the enjoyment, intellectual stimulation and psychological wellbeing of residents
· Collating and reviewing activities paperwork
Experience and Qualifications:
· Minimum of FETAC Level 5 (desired)
· Experience of working with the elderly
· Sincere interest and desire to work with residents in a nursing home environment
