Role Summary
The Supply Chain Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the efficient movement of materials and finished goods throughout the supply chain. The role will involve coordinating customer deliveries, managing logistics activities, supporting inventory control, maintaining accurate records and ensuring excellent communication with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate customer shipments and deliveries, ensuring products are dispatched on time and any issues are proactively managed.
- Liaise daily with customers, logistics providers and suppliers.
- Prepare commercial invoices, shipping documentation and packing lists.
- Coordinate deliveries with Stores personnel and company drivers.
- Attend customer meetings as required and provide updates on delivery schedules and supply chain activities.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional and timely communication.
- Coordinate shipping and customs clearance activities as required.
- Ensure all transport providers meet company compliance requirements.
Administration & Reporting
- Maintain accurate supply chain records and documentation.
- Generate reports and provide updates on inventory levels, customer orders and delivery schedules.
- Support internal communications relating to customer demand, inventory status and shipment schedules.
- Ensure all relevant supply chain documentation is maintained and retained in accordance with company procedures.
- Perform data entry and reporting activities within the company ERP system.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
- Participate actively in Lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste and enhance customer service.
- Support customer, regulatory and certification audits as required.
- Provide departmental cover during periods of leave or absence.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Quality Management System procedures and requirements.
- Support Environmental Management System initiatives and comply with ISO 14001 requirements applicable to the role.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across all departments to support business objectives.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in a supply chain, logistics, administration, customer service or planning role.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using ERP systems, particularly IQMS/DelmiaWorks.
- Knowledge of shipping, logistics and customs documentation.
- Understanding of inventory control and stock management processes.
- Experience supporting Lean or continuous improvement initiatives.
