The Department of French in the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultural Studies at Trinity College Dublin welcomes applications for the position of Teaching Fellow in French.
The School of Languages, Literatures and Cultural Studies is home to seven disciplines, including French. The School is the premier School of Modern Language Studies in Ireland and is ranked 53rd in the world in the QS Subject Rankings 2025.
The French Department has the oldest Chair of French in the world (it was established in 1776) and counts amongst its alumni the Nobel Prize Winner Samuel Beckett. The position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to be part of a research-intensive department which is highly committed to developing best practice in the teaching of French Studies and to promoting our national and international reputation in the discipline.
The successful applicant will have experience and demonstrable success of teaching relevant aspects of French Studies and language at Third Level.

Post status: This is a fixed-term position for term-time only (1st September-31 May) over a period of three years (2026-2029).
Hours of Post: 12 hours of teaching per week
Salary: Appointment will be made on Teaching Fellow Merged Salary Scale in line with Public Sector Pay Policy [€43,425 - €55,227 per annum] https://www.tcd.ie/hr/assets/pdf/monthly-academic.pdf
