We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Officer to oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance across residential and commercial construction projects in the West of Ireland.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation, ISO 45001 standards, and company management systems.
- Conduct site audits, inspections, and risk assessments across multiple active projects.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Drive continuous improvement of health & safety systems across the organisation.
- Support and mentor site teams and project managers in safe working practices.
- Manage safety training, certifications, and compliance tracking.
- Assist site management teams in fulfilling health & safety responsibilities.
- Report on safety performance, KPIs, and compliance to senior management.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a Health & Safety role within construction or related sector.
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification (Diploma, Degree, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of Irish health & safety legislation and Codes of Practice.
- Experience with ISO 45001 systems and permit-to-work procedures.
- Familiarity with systems such as Procore or Hammertech is an advantage.
- Strong communication, auditing, and training skills.
- Ability to liaise confidently with regulatory bodies such as the HSA.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and team-focused approach.
- Full clean Irish driving licence required.
Pay: €36,290.82-€71,737.07 per year
