Securities Middle & Settlement Officer:
Your role
As Securities Middle & Settlement Officer, you will control and analyse day-to-day operational functions of securities settlements and extraordinary operations. Provide and supervise quality client service by prompt responses to queries.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in all activities related to Middle-Settlement of securities operations including the pre-matching and matching of settlement instructions, the transmission of settlement instructions to counterparties and the chasing of counterparties in case of missing settlement confirmation.
Maintain a complete and up-to-date securities database
Ensure real-time escalation of any possible operational incidents / loss / complaints to their Team Leader.
Follow up on foreign exchange operations coming from securities transactions.
Contribute to determine the daily cash and treasury needs.
Maintain a complete and up-to-date database including rules approved with counterparties, SSI's …
Send instructions to sub-custodians from external properties (SWIFT, FTP, fax, emails).
Collect, check and book collaterals for derivative activities.
Analyse critical issues with market counterparties to ensure smooth settlement of complicated situations
Support their colleagues in complex situations in the day-to-day activity where experience is required.
Actively assist their Team Leader and propose improvements where necessary.
Execute the review and submission the TAF (Transaction Activity Fee) report to the CSSF, ensuring accurate transaction level data, compliance with regulatory requirements, and timely delivery.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (in preference) related to the area of expertise.
Experience or similar of at least 5 years in a similar position is required.
Familiar with Bloomberg and Telekurs
Expertise with Swift Messages.
Familiar with Banking Accounting
Good knowledge of market practices related to securities settlements
Good knowledge of computer-based tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook
Languages: French: fluent written and spoken; English and Italian: Advanced written and spoken
