Physiotherapy Healthcare Assistant
A vacancy has arisen within the Physiotherapy Department of the Galway Clinic for the permanent position of Physiotherapy Healthcare Assistant. This is a permanent full-time post.
The Role: The physiotherapy HCA will work under the direction and guidance of registered Physiotherapists to support the provision of Physiotherapy Services.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the physiotherapist in the assessment of clients and the implementation of treatment interventions as directed by the physiotherapist.

Carry out one to one intervention under the direction of the physiotherapist.

Uses knowledge to prepare the client and the environment for treatment as directed by the physiotherapist.

Organise and supervise therapeutic activities, with individual clients/groups as directed by the physiotherapist.

Uses knowledge and training in the application of physiotherapeutic modalities as appropriate.
- Carry out administrative duties as outlined by the physiotherapy departmental policies and procedures.

Aware of Health and Safety Principles when carrying out duties.

Document intervention with the patient as outlined by local policy.
The Candidate:
QQI Level 5 (5M3782) Physiotherapy Assistant (Health Service Skills) - major award, or equivalent
Displays effective communication skills
Works collaboratively with others.
Ability to work independently as appropriate
The ability to plan and organise effectively.
Experience in reception duties
Proficient IT skills relevant to the role
