Newgrange Medical Dundalk is a new, patient-focused GP practice seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to join our growing team.
This is a 2-day per week position, with strong potential to increase hours over time as the practice expands. One working day must include Friday, with the second day flexible.
The Role
You’ll play a central role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care in a well-supported, forward-thinking primary care environment.
Core responsibilities include:
- Chronic Disease Management (Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, CVD, Hypertension)
- Phlebotomy, injections, and venepuncture
- Wound care and dressings
- ECGs, blood pressure monitoring, spirometry, urine testing
- Childhood immunisations and adult vaccination programmes
- Cervical screening (CervicalCheck)
- Health screening
- Sexual health and contraception support
- Infection prevention and control (IPC)
- Clinical coding and accurate record keeping
- Participation in recall systems and preventative care programmes
What We’re Looking For
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Previous GP / primary care experience preferable
- Strong knowledge of Chronic Disease Management programmes
- Experience with Socrates or similar GP software desirable
- Excellent clinical, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Hours & Flexibility
- 2 days per week
- Friday required, second day negotiable
- Standard hours: 09:00 – 18:00 (with lunch and breaks)
