At Apleona, we are always on the lookout for talented and dynamic individuals to join our team. We are currently recruiting for a Gardener to be based in Galway City.
Working Pattern: Mondays to Fridays, 36.5 hours weekly
*** Please note: This is a fixed-term contract to provide sickness cover.***
Main duties and responsibilities
Perform routine gardening tasks: mowing, weeding, pruning, planting, and
watering
Maintain lawns, flower beds, hedges, and pathways
Operate and maintain gardening tools and machinery
Ensure outdoor areas are tidy and safe for public or staff use
Support seasonal tasks such as leaf clearing, snow removal, or planting
Basic plumbing tasks such as unblocking toilets and sinks
Minor repairs and maintenance (e.g., fixing door handles, replacing bulbs)
Painting, decorating, and basic DIY tasks
Assisting with furniture moves and room setups
Monitoring and reporting any maintenance issues or hazards
Supporting the health and safety compliance across the premises
Qualifications and experience
Previous experience in gardening, maintenance, or facilities support (preferred)
Basic knowledge of tools, plants, and general building upkeep
Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently
Good communication and problem-solving skills
