Role Overview
As a Social Care Worker with VHO, you will play a key role in supporting service users through daily living, emotional development, education, and community integration. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to create a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment.
- Key Responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality care and support in line with organizational policies and national standards.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with service users through consistency, empathy, and professional boundaries.
- Implement individualized care plans and contribute to ongoing assessments.
- Support service users with life skills, education, emotional regulation, and community participation.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, management, families, and external agencies.
- Respond effectively to challenging behaviour using trauma‑informed and restorative approaches.
- Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and the rights of every individual in your care.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Applicants must hold a recognised qualification in Social Care or a related field, also Have a CORU REGISTRATION OR WORKING TOWARDS IT

- BA (Ord) in Social Care Practice (Level 7)
- National Diploma in Childcare (HETAC)
- National Diploma in Applied Social Care Studies (HETAC)
- Diploma in Social Care (HETAC)
- BA (Hons) Psychology
- Youth & Community Work qualification
- Degree in Social Science
- Or an equivalent qualification as recognised under Irish national standards
Additional requirements:
- Full clean driving licence (desirable)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Commitment to continuous professional development
- Experience in residential care, disability services, youth work, or family support is an advantage.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: €19.00-€20.00 per hour
