We are hiring a Proactive Sales Manager to join a well established 5* Hotel in Dublin.
The role is heavily business development focused, and we are looking for a motivated sales professional who is looking to make their own stamp on sales development & plans for the property.
Must be willing to travel for this role to other properties in the hotel group from time to time (Dublin, Cork & Kerry)
Overview:
To maximize hotel revenue and guest satisfaction by negotiating group business and coordinating the execution of group business with other departments in accordance with the sales business plan. The job incumbent should be active, proactive, and achieve results. All work is carried out in line with the hotel's guidelines and sales business plan, and the client's Hotel guidelines and service concepts. The role is focusing on both Corporate & MICE sales. This role would suit an ambitious sales representative ready to take a step into a more senior position.
Main Responsibilities
- Achieves budgeted goals by executing sales activities within assigned market segment
- Assists in the development of annual sales goals
- Assists in the completion of monthly booking report
- Ensures own function operates within cost restraints
- Maintains effective correspondence
- Meets budgeted sales and profit margins for group business, by soliciting, selling, and confirming business as required
- Develops data and recommends programmes to meet clients' needs
- Prepares proposals with the Director of Sales that are geared to maximise profit while satisfying guest needs
- Utilises the "Winning Edge" sales techniques
- Solicits files on a timely basis to confirm business
- Uses outside sales calls to solicit existing and new guests
- Conducts on-site client inspections and entertainment weekly
- Contacts in-house guests to foster additional business, repeat bookings, or referrals
- Coordinates activities related to booked business with other departments
- Communicates guests' requests to all departments in an effective and timely manner
- Ensures maximum occupancy on a daily basis by performing follow-ups on progress of groups booked with Front Office
- Increases sales volume and profitability by assisting in developing and executing projects for assigned market areas as stated in the hotel marketing plan
- Develops plans, special sales activities, and promotions
- Conducts market analysis to determine guest needs, occupancy potential, desired rates, etc.
- Attends client's sales blitz, and/or trade shows in key market cities to develop new business and to contact established clients in these cities
- Pre-blocks all special requests or VIP accommodations accurately
- Keeps Sales Department informed of group booking status
- Ensures all reservations are tracked correctly for statistical purposes
- Leases with the Accounts Payable Department regarding credit issues
- Follows all applicable laws, and corporate standards and guidelines
Requirements:
- 2+ years experience within hospitality sales - ideally Corporate & MICE experience
- Full clean driver's licence
- A go getter attitude - interested in cold sales development & business development
Pay: €50,000.00-€60,000.00 per year
Experience:
- Sales in Hospitality: 2 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (preferred)
