Role Overview:
Data Centre Technician – Technical IT is an entry‑level, hands‑on data centre role focused on decommissioning hardware, cable removal, and basic physical IT tasks.
The role follows clear procedures and checklists with guidance from senior technicians.
This is not a scanning or advanced engineering role - it is physical, process‑driven work inside a data centre.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Remove network and power cables during data centre decommissioning
Run, label, stage, and organize power and network cabling
Perform DBD removals only (no scanning or data processing)
Prepare, stage, start up, and shut down hardware using written guides
Always follow standard operating procedures and safety rules
Assist with installing, replacing, and decommissioning IT equipment
Conduct physical audits of data centre assets
Work on‑site during core business hours; flexibility for extended hours if needed
Must‑Have Skills:
High school diploma / GED / equivalent
Basic understanding of:
Ability to follow written instructions, checklists, and procedures
Working knowledge of:
Microsoft Outlook
Microsoft Excel
Microsoft Word
Comfortable with physical, hands‑on work in a data centre environment
Nice‑to‑Have Skills:
Prior data centre or IT hardware support experience
Experience with cable management or rack/stack work
Familiarity with asset tagging or physical inventory audits
Exposure to decommissioning or migration projects

Location: Grange castle, Ireland (ONSITE)
Duration: 3 months
Shift Timings: Monday – Friday 8am - 4:30pm (should be flexible work hours)
Pay Range: €22- €26/hr (PAYE)
Weekly Schedule: 40 hours
