Canteen Assistant

Terra Gourmet is looking for a reliable and friendly Canteen Assistant to join our team working in a busy canteen.
The Role
You will support the daily operation of the canteen, helping with food preparation, serving customers and keeping the service area clean and organised.
Main Responsibilities
● Prepare and serve snacks, sandwiches and light meals.
● Serve staff in a friendly and efficient manner.
● Assist with food preparation and portioning.
● Replenish food and stock during service.
● Operate the till and handle payments when required.
● Maintain high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness.
● Clean tables, counters, equipment and service areas.
● Follow HACCP and food safety procedures.
● Assist with stock rotation and checking use-by dates.
● Work as part of a friendly kitchen and canteen team.
Requirements
● Previous experience in a canteen, café, catering or hospitality environment is an advantage.
● Friendly and positive attitude.
● Reliable, punctual and well organised.
● Good customer service skills.
● Able to work in a busy environment.
● Good standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
● Food safety/HACCP knowledge is an advantage.
