Job Summary THE HOURS AND TIMES FOR THIS ROLE ARE VERY SPECIFIC WE NEED SOMEONE EVERY WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY FROM 12 TO 6.30 ALL YEAR Some weekends may also be needed.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality deli products. You will play a key role in ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are met, as well as contributing to a positive shopping experience for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of deli items, including meats, cheeses, salads, and sandwiches.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the deli area, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Assist customers with their selections, providing knowledgeable recommendations and upselling products when appropriate.
- Manage time effectively to ensure prompt service during peak hours.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while following all health and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations within the deli department.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying management of any shortages.
Experience
- Previous experience in a culinary or food preparation role is preferred but not essential.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and practices is highly advantageous.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for customer service and the ability to engage positively with customers.
