Due to continued success and growth, SMC Group is looking for an experienced Service Technician to join our team in Dublin and the surrounding areas.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technician who has a strong background in industrial cleaning and is also confident identifying opportunities to upsell and cross-sell additional services to our customers.
SMC Group provides a wide range of specialist services, across commercial, residential and industrial sectors including:
- Window Cleaning
- Hard Floor Maintenance
- Pressure Cleaning
- Carpet & Rug Cleaning
- Upholstery Cleaning
- Tile & Grout Cleaning
- Other specialist cleaning and facility maintenance services

For the right candidate who is willing to be flexible and take on additional responsibilities, we are prepared to pay 10-20% above industry guidelines.
The Role
As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality cleaning and maintenance services to our commercial residential and industrial customers while also identifying opportunities to introduce customers to other services offered by Aardvark SMC Limited T/A SMC Group.
You will work both independently and as part of a wider team, representing SMC Group professionally at customer sites.
The role would suit an experienced technician who is looking to progress their career, take on greater responsibility and develop their skills across a broader range of services.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out industrial cleaning and specialist cleaning services to a high standard
- Complete hard floor maintenance and pressure cleaning works
- Carry out window cleaning and other services as required
- Work independently at customer sites while maintaining excellent standards
- Work as part of a wider operational team
- Communicate professionally with customers and colleagues
- Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell additional SMC Group services
- Develop positive relationships with customers
- Support less experienced technicians where required
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude when representing SMC Group
- Follow all company health & safety procedures
- Be flexible and willing to learn additional services
- Travel to customer locations throughout Dublin and surrounding areas
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous industrial cleaning experience - essential
- Previous experience in a senior technician or similar role
- Experience or confidence in sales, upselling or cross-selling
- An outgoing and positive personality
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to work on your own initiative
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A flexible approach to working hours and duties
- A willingness to learn and progress within the company
- A strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Excellent customer service skills
- A full clean Category B driving licence - essential
Qualifications & Training
Essential:
- Full clean Category B driving licence
- Previous industrial cleaning experience
- Fluent English
- Eligibility to work full-time in Ireland
Desirable:
- Safe Pass
- Manual Handling
- Chemical Awareness Training
Full training will be provided on SMC Group's additional services and processes.

- 40 hour week, Monday to Saturday
