A busy Waste Management company with EPA waste licensed facility, Waste collection permit and Waste Facility permit in Cork is seeking an Assistant to the EHS Manager.
The overall purpose of the position is to assist the Environmental Health & Safety Manager with compliance in all Environmental Health & Safety issues relating to waste management.
This role will suit a candidate with significant admin experience in a regulated environment looking for some variety and more field work out of the office, or a candidate with strong operational experience of a supervisory nature looking to move more into the Environment and Health and safety compliance side.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Assist the EHS Manager in maintaining the company’s Environment and Health & Safety Management Systems.
- Assist in the preparation of Health Safety and Environmental Plans and Risk Assessments
- Assist with site audits and reporting, which will entail site walks/visits (will involve driving of company van).
- Carry out and document Environmental and Health & Safety Checks.
- Keeping records of, trainings, incidents and accidents and producing statistics for senior management.
- Document and investigate environment, health and safety complaints.
- Preparation of daily and weekly reports as required.
- Collect data, analyse data and create reports, recommendations and communications.
- Assist in Providing Training; Induction/Refresher/Remedial as required.
- Water emissions monitoring for EPA Licence.
- Water and dust sampling.
- Any ad-hoc duties that may arise.
- Assist in drafting reports to the EPA.
The ideal candidate;
- A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar/adjacent role in a regulated workplace.
- Have good computer skills (MS word, Excel, Outlook)
- Be self-motivated, interested and able to work on own initiative
- Be a team player.
- Be prepared to work in a waste management environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Willing to learn and adapt in a fast paced working environment.
- A full clean drivers licence.
Training will be provided.
