- To assist in the smooth operation of the reception desk.
- To assist in the training and development of new members of staff.
- To ensure switchboard is answered efficiently and correctly.
- To always provide an efficient and friendly telephone service to guests.
- To communicate hotel and town services to guests
- To maximise room revenue at peak times and offer best rates at low times and upsell where possible.
- To prepare rooming lists in conjunction with reservations team.
- To liase with accommodation the accommodation manager and supervisors for the availability of clean inspected rooms and extra requirements for guests i.e. special request ,
- To liase with restaurant manager and supervisors regarding booking times available, special rates, VIPs due in restaurant etc.
- To liase with tour guides and organise group luggage to and from bedrooms, reserving dinner for group, organising any special outings.
- To take messages on behalf of the guests and ensure delivery to the guests room.
- To take messages on behalf of Managers and ensure that messages are passed on with all the necessary details.
- To encourage guests to give Reviews of there stay.
- To handle complaints in a professional manner and record in complaint book.
- To amend guest profiles in the event of a complaint, special request so that it is on the system for future reference.
- When taking reservations ensure all date, contact details, name, address, company name and credit card details are taken correctly.
- To balance all financial records at the end of each shift.
- To ensure floats are balanced at the end of all shifts.
