Caretaker (Community Services Programme – CSP)
This is a Specific Purpose Contract for 19 hours per week. The role requires flexibility to work mornings, evenings, and weekends.
The purpose of the role is to carry out caretaking, maintenance, and general support duties to ensure the community centre and its facilities are safe, clean, secure, welcoming, and well maintained. The post holder will support the day-to-day operation of the centre in line with the objectives of the Community Services Programme (CSP) and the needs of the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- To carry out caretaking and maintenance duties
- To act as a key holder for the community building and al rooms therein.
- To open and close the community building
- To carry out general cleaning duties
- To work as part of the CSP team and attend regular staff support sessions and training as required.
- To work under the ethos and principals of community development adhered to by Templeshannon CSP
- To maintain Confidentiality at all times
- To carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably requested by management.
Essential Criteria:
- Good practical maintenance and DIY skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact with community mumbers
- Physically able to carry out manual duties.
- Flexible to meet the needs of the community centre.
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous caretaker or maintenance experience.
- Manual Handling and/or First Aid certification.
- Experience working in a community or voluntary setting.
- Full, clean driving licence.
Reporting To:
- Community Centre Manager or CSP Supervisor.

- Ex-prisoners or people with a criminal conviction and in contact with the Probation Service
- People coming from labour activation schemes i.e., Community Employment (CE), Tús or RSS placement
- People who are homeless
- Ukrainians displaced by the war

- Asylum Seekers
