Job Description: Bar & Restaurant Supervisor

Role Summary
As the Bar & Restaurant Supervisor, you will work closely with the manager to manage daily operations, ensuring the smooth running of service, driving customer satisfaction, and leading the team to deliver exceptional food and beverage experiences. You will be hands-on, proactive, and responsible for the department in the absence of the manager.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations & Service
- Lead Daily Service: Supervise bar and restaurant staff during shifts, ensuring high service standards across lunch and dinner
- Operational Control: Open/close the bar/restaurant according to SOPs, conduct line checks, and ensure service readiness.
- Guest Experience: Actively engage with guests, resolve complaints promptly and professionally, and personalise experiences.
- Cleanliness & Safety: Maintain high standards of hygiene (HACCP) and safety across dining, bar, and Back of house areas
2. Team Leadership & Coaching
- Motivation: Lead, train, and motivate the F&B team to deliver outstanding service.
- Briefings: Conduct daily pre-shift briefings on menus, specials, and service goals.
- Scheduling: Assist with rostering and managing staff breaks to ensure smooth service flow.
3. Financial & Stock Management
- Cash Handling: Perform end-of-shift reconciliation, ensure accurate cash handling, and secure deposits.
- Stock Control: Monitor stock levels, handle deliveries, perform regular stock takes, and reduce wastage.
- Sales Drive: Actively drive upsell opportunities (premium spirits, wine, cocktails) and maximise GP margins.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years in a supervisory role within a busy hotel, bar, or restaurant setting.
- Skills: Strong cocktail-making, mixology, and wine knowledge.
- Attributes: Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Flexibility: Ability to work late shifts, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Licensing: Good knowledge of Irish alcohol licensing laws
Pay: From €16.30 per hour
Expected hours: 38.0 – 45.0 per week
