Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as an Apprentice Electrician. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain practical experience and technical skills in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, across domestic, industrial and commercial projects. Under the guidance of experienced electricians, the Apprentice Electrician will contribute to various projects aimed at delivering quality installations on time and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, including water supply lines, drainage systems, and fixtures, adhering to safety protocols and industry regulations.
- Support wiring, conduit bending, cable pulling, and fixture installation
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical schematics
- Install outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, and panels under supervision
- Test electrical systems and components using appropriate tools and meters
- Troubleshoot basic electrical issues under guidance
- Follow all safety procedures and comply with local electrical codes and regulations
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized job site
- Load and unload materials and prepare job sites for work
- Document work performed and assist with job reporting as required
- Participate in on-the-job training and classroom instruction (if applicable)
Qualifications:
- Completed Leaving Certificate.
- Strong interest in electrical systems and a passion for performing electrical works.
- Basic understanding of electrical principles, installation, and safety procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions from experienced electricians to gain practical hands-on experience.
- Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and regulations while working onsite or in a workshop environment.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to various challenges and tasks within the electrical trade.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as required by specific projects and tasks
- A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation is preferred.
