Description
Cowper Care is seeking applications for the temporary role of Activities Assistant (Maternity Cover) for its Nursing Home - Gascoigne House Nursing Home, Rathmines Dublin 6.
Cover will start in October and will run through maternity leave.
Job Purpose
Organise, carry out and co-ordinate a varied activities programme that promotes independence, choice and dignity for our residents.
Report directly to the designated Team Leader and accountable to the Assistant Care Manager/Care Manager.
The Activities Assistant will

Maximise the independence of the resident and facilitate participation in activities.

Organise and co-ordinate a varied activities programme that will promote independence, choice and dignity for our residents.

Assist in delivering a high standard of holistic care to residents, promoting their independence and equality at all times.

Improve the intellectual, physical, psychological, spiritual and overall health of the people in your care through engagement in activities.

Assist and encourage the residents to achieve their rehabilitation goals by involvement in activities.

Activities need to be developed in conjunction with clinical team members to ensure they are safe and relevant to the residents' requirements.

Carry out assigned and delegated tasks involving direct care and all activities/aspects of daily living under the direction and supervision.
Requirements

QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or the equivalent

Minimum two years previous experience in a similar role working with the elderly

This is a fixed-term role for maternity cover.
This is a Full-time position - 39 hours per week.
