Electrical Engineer, Industrial Projects - Leinster
The Role
Our client is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their multi-disciplinary engineering team, supporting the delivery of industrial infrastructure projects from initial design through to completion and client handover.
This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced project teams in a collaborative environment, contributing to the successful delivery of complex engineering projects while developing technical and professional skills.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer include:
- Production of detailed electrical design submissions.
- Working with multidisciplinary design teams in the preparation of design and construction drawings and documentation.
- Liaising with Mechanical & Electrical Designers, Civil Engineers and Structural Designers to ensure coordinated project delivery.
- Preparation and application of Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Permits and other Health & Safety documentation.
- Preparation of scope documents and tender packages.
- Reviewing subcontractor tender submissions and contract pricing.
- Developing electrical design deliverables including:
- Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
- Cable Schedules
- Motor Schedules
- Instrumentation Schedules
- P&IDs
- Associated technical documentation
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors and preparing purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
- Managing site personnel and subcontractors to ensure work is completed in accordance with design documentation and project programmes.
- Completing quality inspections and checks to ensure works meet design specifications and are ready for commissioning.
- Preparing commissioning documentation and supporting commissioning activities.
- Coordinating project close-out activities, including testing, documentation and handover to the end user.
Knowledge, Skills & ExperienceEssential Requirements
- Degree (Level 7 or Level 8) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in an Electrical Engineering role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong teamwork and project coordination skills.
- High level of literacy, numeracy and IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Full clean driving licence.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience within the water, wastewater, utilities, industrial manufacturing or infrastructure sectors.
- Experience supporting projects through design, installation, commissioning and handover phases.
- Familiarity with industry standards and engineering documentation processes.
