We are excited to invite applications for an experienced and passionate Lead Montessori Teacher to join our brand-new Preschool, Afterschool and Therapy Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing service from the very beginning. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, caring and committed to providing high-quality early years education while supporting the day-to-day management of the service.
The successful candidate will work as the lead Montessori teacher while supporting the Manager with the daily operation of the preschool. This role offers the opportunity to help shape a new, child-centered environment that promotes inclusion, creativity and excellence in early childhood education. The candidate must have:
- Montessori qualification (minimum QQI Level 6 in Early Childhood Care and Education or recognised equivalent).
- Experience leading a classroom and planning a high-quality Montessori curriculum.
- Excellent knowledge of Aistear, Síolta and the Early Years Regulations.
- Strong understanding of Tusla requirements and compliance.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Current First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain).
- Children First Training completed.
- Garda Vetting (or willingness to undergo Garda Vetting).
- Proficient knowledge in child development theories and practices
- Full knowledge and awareness of relevant and current childcare legislation
- Capacity to implement childcare practice in line with organisational policies and procedures.
- Capacity to ensure the organisational policies and procedures support the needs-led nature of the practice in.
- A genuine interest in working directly with young children and in partnership with parents, carers and families.
- A commitment to delivering a high quality, needs led childcare/early years programme that contributes to creating the conditions necessary for the best possible outcomes for children and their parents/guardians.
- A commitment to working with parents and children in a way that supports positive child development, child-parent relationship and overall child and family well-being.
Desirable
- Qualified in First Aid and Manual Handling.
- Previous supervisory or assistant manager experience.
- Knowledge of the Montessori Curriculum.
- Experience supporting inspections and maintaining compliance.
- Experience working with children with additional needs.
- Knowledge of inclusive practice and positive behaviour support.
Main Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Montessori and ECCE programmes.
- Create a warm, safe and stimulating learning environment.
- Support children’s learning, wellbeing and development.
- Build positive relationships with children and families.
- Assist with the day-to-day management of the preschool.
- Support staff and help maintain high professional standards.
- Ensure compliance with Tusla regulations, policies and procedures.
- Assist with administration, attendance records and documentation.
- Support health and safety, safeguarding and quality assurance procedures.
- Work collaboratively with therapists and afterschool staff to provide a holistic service for children and families.
