Summary:
The Business Analyst is responsible for supporting the delivery of regulatory software solutions within the aviation domain. The role works closely with Product Owners, customers, subject matter experts, and delivery teams to define business and regulatory requirements and translate them into structured outputs for Agile development.
The position involves interpreting legislation, policies, and operational processes and converting these into clear functional requirements, user stories, and workflow designs. The role supports the alignment of delivered solutions with regulatory obligations and business objectives.
Major Activities:
Requirements Elicitation & Analysis:
Engages with customers and stakeholders to gather and document business needs and regulatory requirements.
Facilitates workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions to support requirements definition.
Analyses legislation, policies, and operating procedures and translates them into functional requirements.
Product & Delivery Support
Supports the Product Owner in developing and maintaining user stories, epics, acceptance criteria, and business rules.
Contributes to backlog refinement, prioritisation, and sprint planning activities.
Participates in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Collaboration & Delivery Execution
Collaborates with UX, development, and QA teams throughout the development lifecycle.
Provides ongoing clarification of requirements and business context to delivery teams.
Supports user acceptance testing and solution validation activities.
Process Improvement & Alignment
Identifies opportunities to improve customer journeys and operational efficiency.
Supports the design of digital workflows aligned with regulatory and operational requirements.
Ensures solutions remain consistent with regulatory frameworks and organizational goals.
Knowledge & Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, or Product Analysis roles.
Experience working within Agile or Scrum delivery environments.
Demonstrated ability to gather, analyse, and document business and system requirements.
Experience developing user stories and acceptance criteria.
Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation capabilities.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to translate complex business processes into structured requirements.
Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar.
Experience working within regulated industries (e.g., aviation, public sector, financial services, healthcare, insurance, utilities).
Experience interpreting legislation, regulations, standards, or compliance requirements.
Experience supporting Product Owners and contributing to product backlog management.
Experience working with aviation authorities, registries, or regulatory systems.
Experience delivering solutions for government or statutory bodies.
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as EASA, ICAO, or similar.
