We are currently seeking a reliable, safety-conscious, and customer-focused Bus Driver to operate Local Link Route 195, providing vital transport services to communities in Ashbourne. The successful candidate will ensure safe, timely, and courteous transportation for passengers, maintaining a high standard of professionalism and care.
This is a part time weekend position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a designated vehicle on Route 195 in accordance with schedule and company policies
- Provide excellent customer service to all passengers, including assisting with boarding and mobility needs if required
- Maintain accurate records including logbooks, fare collection, and incident reports
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and respond to route changes or delays
- Ensure compliance with all road traffic laws and company safety regulations
- Represent the company positively and professionally at all times
Requirements:
- Full, clean D or D1 category driving licence
- Up-to-date CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)
- Previous experience driving passenger vehicles preferred but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage time and schedules effectively
- Commitment to safety, punctuality, and customer service
- Must be flexible and willing to work early or late weekends as required
Desirable:
- Local area knowledge of Route 195 (including main stops and potential traffic issues)
- Experience working in rural or community transport settings
- First Aid training
