Role Overview
To operate a loading shovel safely and efficiently to support the delivery of road surfacing materials, ensuring materials are loaded and managed in line with company standards, health & safety regulations, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate loading shovel to move, load, and distribute aggregates, asphalt, and other surfacing materials in our quarry.
- Carry out daily machine checks, routine maintenance, and report any defects or issues promptly.
- Ensure safe loading of materials in accordance with weight limits and operational procedures.
- Work closely with site teams to ensure materials are supplied efficiently to trucks, and stockpiles.
- Maintain a clean and safe working area, ensuring compliance with company health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Assist with general site duties when required, yard organisation, and stock control.
- Follow site supervisor instructions.
Skills & Competencies
- Competent and experienced in operating a loading shovel.
- Knowledge of aggregates, asphalt, and surfacing materials desirable.
- Strong awareness of health & safety, especially around heavy plant.
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
- Flexibility and reliability, with a positive attitude to work.
Qualifications & Requirements
- CSCS/QSCS card
- Previous experience in quarry, or construction environments preferred.
- Full Irish driving licence.
