The Trough Café is looking for a reliable, practical and organised person to join our team in a varied role combining delivery driving, warehouse organisation and general maintenance duties.
This is a hands-on position that would suit someone who enjoys keeping things organised, takes pride in their work and is happy to turn their hand to a variety of tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery Driving
- Carry out deliveries and collections for the café
- Load and unload goods safely
- Ensure deliveries are completed on time and handled with care
- Maintain a clean and tidy delivery vehicle
Warehouse & Stock Organisation
- Organise and maintain the warehouse and storage areas
- Receive, check and put away deliveries
- Keep stock areas clean, tidy and easy to navigate
- Assist with stock rotation and general inventory organisation
- Help ensure supplies are available when needed
General Maintenance & Household Tasks
- Carry out small maintenance jobs around the café and associated premises
- Touch up paintwork and carry out basic decorating
- Fix or assemble shelves and other simple fixtures
- Carry out minor repairs and general upkeep
- Help keep the premises looking clean, presentable and well maintained
The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who is:
- Reliable and punctual
- Organised and able to work independently
- Practical and confident using basic tools
- Happy working both indoors and out
- Physically capable of loading, unloading and moving stock
- A safe and responsible driver
- Able to spot jobs that need doing and get stuck in
- Flexible and willing to help wherever needed
- Friendly, professional and respectful of customers and colleagues
A full clean driving licence is essential. Previous experience in deliveries, warehousing, maintenance or a similar hands-on role would be an advantage, but the right attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
