Financial Controller – MotorCorp
MotorCorp is one of Ireland’s leading motor retailers, recognised for delivering exceptional customer service, operational excellence, and a premium dealership experience. We are currently seeking an experienced, commercially focused, and strategic Financial Controller to lead our finance function at our Dublin dealership.
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior finance professional to play a key leadership role within a fast-paced and growing motor retail business.
Working Hours:
Full-time position, Monday to Friday.
Role Overview
The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations across the business, ensuring robust financial controls, regulatory compliance, accurate reporting, and providing strategic financial insight to senior management. The successful candidate will partner closely with the leadership team to drive profitability, operational efficiency, and business growth.
Previous experience within the motor industry is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day finance function across the business
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting
- Deliver accurate financial reporting, analysis, and KPI dashboards to senior management
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and annual business planning processes
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and cash management
- Manage VAT, PAYE/PRSI, corporation tax, and all statutory compliance requirements
- Monitor vehicle stock funding, floorplans, manufacturer bonuses, rebates, and inventory reconciliations
- Analyse profitability, margins, overheads, and departmental performance across vehicle sales, aftersales, finance, and parts
- Develop and maintain strong internal financial controls, processes, and risk management procedures
- Lead audit preparation and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners
- Support payroll oversight and financial governance processes
- Provide commercial and strategic financial insight to support operational and investment decisions
- Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members where applicable
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 5+ years’ post-qualification experience, ideally within motor retail, automotive, or multi-site retail operations
- Previous experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or senior finance leadership role preferred
- Strong knowledge of Irish accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial compliance requirements
- Experience managing manufacturer financial processes, stock funding, and dealership reporting advantageous
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial systems experience
- Strong commercial acumen with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail with strong organisational capabilities
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
